IMESI-ILE SET FOR GRAND CELEBRATION OF IMESI DAY 2025

The historic town of Imesi-Ile in Osun State is preparing for the grand celebration of Imesi-Ile Day 2025 — a week-long event filled with faith, culture, sports, and activities that promote unity and community development.

The celebration will run from Friday, November 7, to Saturday, November 15, 2025, featuring religious, educational, health, and entertainment programmes for everyone — from elders to young people.

The event will begin on Friday, November 7, with a Jumat Service at the Imesi-Ile Central Mosque by 1:30 p.m., where Muslim worshippers will pray for peace, progress, and blessings upon the town.

On Sunday, November 9, the Christian Thanksgiving Service will hold at the Methodist Cathedral, Otapete, by 10 a.m., to give thanks for Imesi-Ile’s unity and growth.

Monday, November 10, will be marked as The Polytechnic Day, focusing on education and the importance of institutions in shaping the skills and knowledge of Imesi’s youth.

Tuesday, November 11, will feature a Medical Outreach and Free Health Services at the Town Hall from 10 a.m., where residents can benefit from health checks, treatments, and health education.

A busy day awaits on Wednesday, November 12, beginning with the Sir & Lady Olamijulo Marathon Race at 7 a.m. to promote fitness and sportsmanship, followed by the IITA/Farmers’ Day at 10 a.m., celebrating farmers’ efforts and agricultural innovation.

On Thursday, November 13, attention will turn to education with a Symposium on “Rescuing the Basic Education System in Imesi-Ile” at the Town Hall by 10 a.m. Later that day, the Ayo Olopon Competition Final will hold at the Palace Square by 4 p.m., showcasing traditional games and cultural wisdom.

Friday, November 14, promises a day of music, sports, and fun. The Concert of Hymns will be held at Methodist Cathedral, Ijana, by 11 a.m., followed by the Football Final at Imesi-Ile High School Field by 4 p.m. The evening will come alive with the Variety Night, Beauty Pageant, Gala Night, and Campfire at the Town Hall from 7 p.m. till dawn — a night of music, talent, and celebration of youth excellence.

The grand finale on Saturday, November 15, will begin with a Youth Rally and Clean-Up Exercise at 7 a.m., promoting environmental cleanliness and civic responsibility. The celebration will end with a Grand Reception at the Palace Square by 10 a.m., where dignitaries, community leaders, and guests from across Nigeria will gather to honour Imesi-Ile’s achievements.

Over the years, Imesi-Ile Day has become more than just a celebration — it is a symbol of cultural pride, unity, and community renewal. It continues to bring together indigenes from all walks of life to celebrate their heritage, reflect on progress, and plan for a brighter future for the town.
