The Lord Restores Health to His End-Time Church” — Pastor David Popoola

End-time Christians overcome sickness and disease by activating the weapon called the Word of God, thereby living a life of dominion over sickness and disease.

Pastor David Popoola, State Pastor of Living Faith Church (Winners), Oke-Onitea, Òṣogbo, made this statement during the Sunday service held on 3rd August 2025, tagged “Covenant Sunday of Showers of Blessings.” The service also served as the Midst of the Year Thanksgiving.

Ministering on the topic “Walking in Dominion Over Sickness and Disease” in line with the August prophetic focus themed “I will restore health unto you” – Jeremiah 30:17, Pastor David Popoola warned that disobedience hinders the showers of healing, which only come through obedience to God’s Word.

Emphasising the Word of God as the main weapon against sickness, he pointed out that nothing living exists outside of the Word, as written in John 1:1–3 and Genesis 1:1–28 during the creation of the heavens and the earth.

Pastor Popoola urged that as members of the end-time Church, we are ordained to live in dominion over sickness and disease because God’s Word is the Balm in Gilead, and Jesus is the Great Physician – Jeremiah 8:22.

He added that God’s Word is medicinal, and since we are spirit beings, our medicine should also be spiritual. God’s Word is surgical, as stated in Hebrews 4:12, and it restores dead body organs, as declared in Jeremiah 30:17.

He explained that most sicknesses are satanic oppressions; as such, Christians are engaged in spiritual warfare against the spirit of infirmity, the spirit of insanity, the spirit of heaviness, deaf and dumb spirits, and the manipulations of the spirit of hell.

The spirit of infirmity brings sickness, illness and disease, while insanity manifests in two forms: spiritual attack-induced insanity and self-inflicted insanity. The latter refers to when individuals cause harm to their own mental health through harmful practices, such as a man taking drugs or a pregnant woman smoking.

Furthermore, he itemised the weapons of our warfare as highlighted in Luke 9:1–6. These include the healing virtue in the Word, the force of faith, the body and blood of Jesus, and the prophetic mantle.
