Following extensive deliberations, presentation and adoption of House Committee reports, three bills have successfully scaled their third readings during the plenary of the Osun State House of Assembly.
The passage, which signifies the end of the legislative process required on the bills, highlights that the recommendations become legally binding, as soon as the state Governor appends his assent.
The Majority leader, Hon. Babajide Adewunmi moved the motion for the adoption of the three bills, which are: The Osun State Customary Court of Appeal (Establishment) Amendment Bill, 2025; The Osun State District Customary Court and Customary Courts(Establishment) Amendment Bill, 2025; and the Osun State Electricity Market Regulatory Establishment Bill, 2025.
The Speaker, Rt.Hon. Adewale Egbedun, said that the clean copies of the Bills shall be forwarded to the Governor for his assent.
In the same vein,a member representing Obokun State Constituency, Hon. Adeyemi Adewumi, presented, through a letter to the number one parliamentarian, a private Member Bill, titled; Osun State Infrastructure Maintenance and Regulation Bill, 2025.
The Bill, according to the letter, shall create a comprehensive legal and institutional framework for regulating infrastructure erection, maintenance and usage across Osun State which,among other benefits enhance safety, ensure orderly development, and protection of public infrastructure across the state.
In another development,the Speaker ,Rt. Hon, Adewale Egbedun, has congratulated the Clerk of the House, Mr Simeon Amusan, on his elevation to the position of a fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Management( NIM)
Hon.Egbedun who acknowledged that the elevation is well deserved by Mr Amusan,attributed it to his dedication and hardwork,
Mr Amusan in his remarks, appreciated the Government of Osun State and the leadership of the Osun State House of Assembly for creating an enabling environment which afforded him the opportunity to reach the pinnacle of the management profession.
