The Osun State House of Assembly has on Monday, 7th July 2025 during the plenary commended the Gov. Ademola Adeleke led administration for its quick intervention on the construction of the Iwo Dual Carriageway.
This commendation was delivered by the Hon. Representing Iwo state constituency, Hon. Rabiu Atanda.
He expressed that the intervention has been so timely given the state of the road especially during the raining season.
Hon. Atanda further extended the gratitude to the quick intervention of the state government to the conflict between Iwo community in Osun State and Lagelu community in Oyo state.
Stating that these interventions raises optimism for Gov. Adeleke’s second term in office as the community endorses him for second term.
Earlier, the Speaker, RT. Hon. Olumide Egbedun had read to the General Assembly a letter sent by the Executive Gov. of the state, Sen. Ademola Adeleke.
The letter presented an Executive Bill, titled: Osun State Water Users’ Association (Irrigation) Bill, 2025.
The Bill aims to establish the Osun State Water Users’ Association (Irrigation) to manage, operate, and maintain irrigation infrastructure and provide water to its members and will also be responsible for collecting and retaining fees related to its operations.
Subsequently, the Osun State Emergency Management Agency Amendment (No.1 Bill, 2025), has scaled through its second reading.
Honourable representing Obokun State Constituency, Hon. Adewumi Adeyemi IREKANDU, gave the policy thrust of the Bill, stating that the Bill needs to be amended to create a dedicated trust fund, because there are times when emergencies occur.
As such, the Bill will address where and how the funds will be sourced, also giving the Agency a legal backing.
Contributing, fellow lawmakers, the Majority Leader and the member representing Ifè Central, added that the Bill aims to create sustainable growth and management, and that the Bill is coming at a germane time.
